Welcome to Keep The Salt - the place where the real hip-hop heads gather for those pure boombap and true school vibes. Since our first broadcast on August 30, 2020, we've been working nonstop to keep the culture alive, all thanks to the oldschoolers Jerome XL and MC Threeman (Redbeard).
How it all began
What started as a joke on Facebook quickly grew into something much bigger. Jerome XL and MC Drieman, both with deep roots in the Dutch hip-hop scene, decided to join forces. Jerome XL, who was already inspired by the Ouderkerk Kaffirs at the age of 16, and MC Drieman, once known as Roodbaard from that same crew, found each other again after years of separate adventures in the hip-hop world.
Our journey so far
Every three weeks we drop a fresh episode, packed with those raw boombap sounds and an exclusive DJ mix that will make your speakers pop. But that's not all. We regularly have heavyweights like rapper Nico Noot of Gotcha! and graffiti legend Recal One on the line or in the studio for the necessary mischief.
In 2024, we changed the game by launching a 24/7 radio station, so you can always enjoy the thickest tracks and fattest shows. Whether you turn on early in the morning or in the middle of the night, Keep The Salt is there for you.
Rewind Selecta !
One of the highlights of our show is the "Rewind" segment. Here we invite national and international guests to share stories you won't hear anywhere else. This is where real knowledge is dropped and history comes to life.
